Screwfeed & Pistol Grip
Driver System
Description
The DTI 5000 pistol screwdriving units are designed with a rugged PLC controller that controls the feed mechanism and bowl, as well as various features on the screwdriver. The PLC features user adjustable settings for the feed blow time, bowl run time, barrel retract and extend time, and driver shut-off time in drive-to-depth applications. These settings allow the customer freedom to tailor the driver performance to their exact application, rather than relying on a “one setting fits all” approach like the competitions. The driver assemblies are designed for ease of maintenance as well. The patented feed mechanism has only one moving part and is the simplest machine to operate in the industry.
Key Features
DTI 5000 automatic screw feeding and pistol grip screwdriver systems are available in several different configurations, including standard, rigid, and retracting barrel designs. These machines are custom designed for vertical and horizontal applications with the nose piece jaws fitting the customer’s part. The pistol screwdriver assemblies can be designed for a wide range of applications and fastener types including screws, bolts, nuts, pins, or nails. The standard screw feeder systems cycle quickly delivering screws in less than one second in many applications. The rigid units maintain contact between the bit and the fastener in order to locate the screw in predrilled or misaligned holes. The retracting barrel feature is offered in both rigid and non-rigid designs. This system retracts the barrel fully when the driver starts, so that the driver components do not contact the work surface when the screw is driven.
The DTI 5000 pistol systems are offered in both direct drive and auto shut-off clutch tools that are small and lightweight. The direct drive systems are very compact, allowing these tools to be used in applications that are difficult to access. The fastener torque can be regulated using air pressure to prevent over tightening. The auto shut-off clutch pistol systems reduce operator fatigue in higher torque applications. These systems are also available in a drive-to-depth configuration, where the fastener is driven to a specific depth rather than a set torque value. Many applications benefit from this feature, as the depth can be controlled rather than relying on the operator to stop the driver at the correct fastener depth.

In the competitive world of prehung door manufacturing, staying ahead of the curve is crucial. The Wise 1500 Jamb Processing Machine has emerged as a game-changing solution for manufacturers looking to optimize their production processes. Let's explore the top five advantages of incorporating this innovative machine into your manufacturing line.
- Unparalleled Precision and Consistency
The hallmark of a quality prehung door lies in the precision of its components, particularly the door jamb. The Wise 1500 Jamb Processing Machine excels in this area, offering unmatched accuracy in cutting, routing, and boring operations.
This machine utilizes advanced CNC technology to ensure that every jamb is processed to exact specifications. The result is a level of consistency that's nearly impossible to achieve with manual processing methods. Whether you're working on a small batch of custom doors or a large-scale production run, the Wise 1500 maintains the same high level of precision throughout.
The benefits of this precision extend beyond the manufacturing process. Doors with perfectly processed jambs are easier to install, reducing on-site adjustments and callbacks. This not only saves time and money but also enhances your reputation for quality among builders and contractors.
- Increased Productivity and Efficiency
One of the most significant advantages of the Wise 1500 Jamb Processing Machine is its ability to dramatically increase productivity. This machine can process jambs at a rate that far exceeds manual methods, allowing manufacturers to meet higher production targets without sacrificing quality.
The Wise 1500 automates several time-consuming tasks that would typically require multiple workstations and operators. It can handle cutting to length, end notching, hinge routing, strike and latch boring, and even weatherstrip insertion in a single, seamless operation. This consolidation of tasks not only speeds up the production process but also reduces the potential for errors that can occur when transferring workpieces between stations.
Moreover, the machine's quick setup and changeover times mean less downtime between different job specifications, further enhancing overall efficiency. For manufacturers dealing with a variety of door styles and sizes, this flexibility is invaluable.
- Cost-Effective Operation
While the initial investment in a Wise 1500 Jamb Processing Machine may seem significant, the long-term cost savings are substantial. By automating the jamb processing tasks, manufacturers can reduce labor costs associated with manual processing methods. A single operator can oversee the machine's operation, effectively doing the work of several skilled workers.
The precision and consistency of the Wise 1500 also lead to reduced material waste. Accurate cuts and routing mean fewer scrapped pieces due to human error, translating to significant savings on raw materials over time. Additionally, the machine's efficiency in processing jambs can lead to reduced energy costs compared to operating multiple separate machines for each task.
Maintenance costs are another area where the Wise 1500 shines. Its robust construction and high-quality components ensure long-term reliability, minimizing downtime and repair expenses. When factoring in all these cost savings, many manufacturers find that the Wise 1500 pays for itself in a relatively short period.
- Enhanced Worker Safety
Safety is a paramount concern in any manufacturing environment, and the Wise 1500 Jamb Processing Machine contributes significantly to a safer workplace. By automating many of the cutting, routing, and boring operations, this machine reduces the need for workers to handle potentially dangerous tools and equipment manually.
The enclosed design of the Wise 1500 minimizes the risk of injuries from flying debris or accidental contact with cutting tools. Additionally, the reduced need for manual material handling decreases the likelihood of strain injuries and accidents related to moving heavy workpieces.
This focus on safety not only protects your workforce but can also lead to reduced insurance premiums and fewer workers' compensation claims, further contributing to the machine's cost-effectiveness.
- Versatility and Customization
The Wise 1500 Jamb Processing Machine is designed to handle a wide range of jamb sizes and styles, making it an incredibly versatile addition to any prehung door manufacturing operation. Whether you're producing standard interior doors or custom exterior units, this machine can be quickly configured to meet your specific requirements.
The machine's advanced software allows for easy programming of different jamb profiles, hinge placements, and bore patterns. This flexibility enables manufacturers to respond quickly to changing market demands or custom orders without the need for extensive retooling or process changes.
Furthermore, the Wise 1500 can be integrated into existing production lines or serve as the cornerstone of a new, more efficient manufacturing setup. Its compatibility with other Wise machines and industry-standard equipment ensures that it can enhance your current operations rather than disrupt them.
In conclusion, the Wise 1500 Jamb Processing Machine offers a compelling array of benefits for prehung door manufacturers. From unparalleled precision and increased productivity to cost-effective operation, enhanced safety, and versatile customization options, this machine is a powerful tool for staying competitive in today's demanding market. By investing in the Wise 1500, manufacturers can elevate their production capabilities, improve product quality, and position themselves for long-term success in the prehung door industry.
